A new FICO mortgage credit score unveiled Tuesday casts a wider net to capture consumer behavior not previously considered in whether to grant a home loan. The agency says it will make more people eligible for a mortgage, but critics say that wider net may pull in new inaccuracies and create additional privacy concerns.

Getting married is a big commitment. It involves a lot of trust and work. It is wonderful to find someone that you want to spend your life with. As you prepare to get married, it is important to sit down and discuss finances. One of the leading causes of contention and divorce in marriage is finances. It is important that you take the steps before you get married to make sure that you and your future spouse will work together. It can be frustrating if one spouse won't participate in the budgeting process, in fact it can often end a marriage.
You need to make sure that you will work together on your finances. This means that you should sit down and openly discuss where you are currently including all of your debt and assets. Once you are married you combine these. It can be very frustrating to have one person spend money frivolously.

The Avengers,"
which launched the summer in mid-spring with its May 4 release. The
superhero supergroup scored the biggest three-day weekend ever with
$200.3 million, and went on to become the third highest-grossing film in history. "The Amazing Spider-Man,"
which broke a Tuesday opening record with $35 million -- feel a little
lukewarm. Only one more big movie-event awaits us, "The Dark Knight
Rises," on July 20, 2012 and many more. For fans of superhero
films, action movies, and comedies. Just about every major comic book
character is represented on the screen this summer - with the exception
of Superman and
X-Men, which we won't see back in theaters until 2013 - and the 2012
summer release calendar is one of the more impressive schedules of the
past dozen years.

Have you ever been turned down for a checking account? While denials are more common when applying for credit, you can also be declined when applying for a bank account. If you have been declined, it’s likely due to a reporting agency that many have never heard of, but who has a lot of information about and influence over banking customers. It’s called ChexSystems.
Information reported by banks to ChexSystems typically stays in the system for five years. Items are only removed before the expiration of the five year period if the reporting financial institution requests the item to be removed or applicable law requires ChexSystems to remove the derogatory item

Prepaid credit cards may soon have protection for all

Reloadable prepaid payment cards may soon have the same safeguards against fraud, hidden fees and losses that currently protect debit card users from abuses.
The federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) today announced it will begin accepting public comments on potential new consumer protections for reloadable prepaid cards. It's the first step in drafting federal rules to regulate the increasingly popular cards, which allow users to load funds onto them and make online and in-store purchases just as they would with a debit card or credit card. When available funds are depleted, the cards can be reloaded again.
Consumer groups have long warned that prepaid cards are chock-full of fees and carry no mandatory protections if cards are lost, stolen or used by unauthorized parties. To make matters worse, many celebrities -- the Kardashian sisters and money adviser Suze Orman, most recently -- have lent their names to prepaid cards to lure potential buyers only to draw fire from consumer advocates.

Senate Republicans on Tuesday blocked consideration of a Democratic bill to prevent the doubling of some student loan interest rates, leaving the legislation in limbo less than two months before rates on subsidized federal loans are set to shoot upward. Democrats arrayed college students
to plead for a yes vote. The bill was blocked on party lines. Along
party lines, the Senate voted 52 to 45 on a key procedural motion,
failing to reach the 60 votes needed to begin debating the measure.
Senator Olympia J. Snowe, the moderate Republican from Maine who is
retiring, voted present.

Student Loan Forgiveness Act 2012: Rep. Hansen Clarke Proposes Bill To Cut Debt After 10 YearsU.S. Rep. Taking advantage of Google's video conferencing service Google+ Hangout, Clarke explained the details of his Student Loan Forgiveness Act of 2012 to a physical audience at Wayne State University, as well as a virtual one comprising students from across Michigan and the country. H.R. 4170 would forgive student loan debt for those who have paid 10 percent of their discretionary income toward their loans for 10 years and would cap interest on federal student loans at the current rate of 3.4 percent. Individuals who go into teaching, public service or practice medicine in underserved areas would have their debt forgiven after only five years."Everyone tells us to go to school and work hard and we'll be rewarded for our dedication,"
