Credit Talk Show - Entertainment News: Blackfish the movie from Magnolia Pictures

Entertainment news:

I was honored to witness a remarkable movie tonight. A film that both touched and moved me in a way that was very meaningful. The film, by Magnolia Pictures, is called Blackfish. This is the real story about SeaWorld and their treatment of the whales they trap and capture in the wild. Blackfish is told by former Orca trainers including John Hargrove who worked at SeaWorld of California, SeaWorld of Texas, and Marineland in the south of France . The movie shows how SeaWorld parades these beautiful animals around to the public during the day as entertainment for massive profits and at night holds them in cruel captivity. It shows how the babies are ripped from the mothers and their pods from the open ocean. It shows, with great respect, the indignity these animals experience after being stolen from their homes, from their lives and families, and are forced to do tricks for treats and live in a tank of water that to them is the size of a bathtub. Imagine spending your whole life in a bathtub. It's obscene. Over the years there have been several senseless deaths of Orca trainers including Dawn Brancheau. This movie should be dedicated in her memory. If I had to describe this movie in a few words they would be EMOTIONAL, IMPORTANT, & ENLIGHTENING.
Blackfish is in some cites starting 7/19/2013 check your local listing for when this amazing film comes to your city..

The Senate approved a long-anticipated Internet sales tax proposal on Monday, moving the legislation one step closer to enactment and paving the way for shoppers to pay sales tax on the majority of online purchases.

The so-called Marketplace Fairness Act would allow the 45 states (and the District of Columbia) that currently charge sales taxes to require large online retailers to collect tax on purchases made by their residents. The law would only apply to online sellers that have sales of at least $1 million outside of states where they have physical operations, like a store or a warehouse.

S
amoa Air has become the first airline to charge passengers according to how much they weigh. The company carries travelers on hops between Pacific islands that have some of the highest obesity rates in the world. Instead of charging for each seat, Samoa Air has started weighing passengers along with their luggage, and charging them a fee reflecting the total, depending on the length of the flight. Fees range from about $1 to $4 per kilo (2.2 pounds), meaning passengers pay a little under $50 to $200 per 100 lbs. "This is the fairest way of traveling," Samoa Air CEO Chris Langton says. "There are no extra fees in terms of excess baggage or anything.

CREDIT TALK SHOW -Should airlines charge people how much they weigh 04/18 by CREDIT TALK USA | Blog Talk Radio

Should airlines charge people how much they weigh 04/18 by CREDIT TALK USA | Blog Talk Radio

Airlines should charge obese passengers more, a Norwegian economist has suggested, arguing that "pay as you weigh" pricing would bring health, financial and environmental dividends.

Bharat Bhatta, an associate professor at Sogn og Fjordane University College, said that airlines should follow other transport sectors and charge by space and weight.

"To the degree that passengers lose weight and therefore reduce fares, the savings that result are net benefits to the passengers," Bhatta wrote this week in the Journal of Revenue and Pricing Management.

"As a plane of a given make and model can accommodate more lightweight passengers, it may also reward airlines" and reduce the use of environmentally costly fuel.
